Secrets About Shampoo!

Having a bad hair day? Well, your shampoo could be the reason for that. Here are some facts you didn’t know about shampoo and ways to revive that gorgeous hair.

1. Shampoo is not the most important part

It is not the brand or the price of the shampoo, but the massaging of the scalp and rinsing of products that counts. Using your fingertips to gently massage the scalp will make the hair follicles grow healthy. Also, be sure to rinse out the shampoo completely.

2. Natural remedies are not always a good idea

Most shampoos have natural ingredients; unfortunately, some of these ingredients may be more harmful than helpful. Lemon, used by itself, can irritate the scalp. Mint and menthol will soothe the hair but can also trigger easily allergic reactions.

3. Don’t expect commercial results

Elegantly shiny and gorgeous looking hair that appears on commercials is not exactly a product of shampoo. Unfortunately, for us, those actors have the magic touch of a professional hair stylist.

4. Less is more

Use only a small amount of shampoo to wash your hair. Using too much shampoo, can produce too much foam and willhinders massaging the scalp properly.

5. Big name small results

Some brands boast unique ingredients in their product to solely attract customers. For an ingredient to actually be unique, the shampoo must contain from one to five percent of that ingredient. Some brands deliver fast results for only a short time. After a few more washes, you will see noticeable build up.

6. Salon brand available in drugstores

With our current economic crisis, big companies are trying different ways of getting their products to the market. Nowadays, you can purchase quality salon brands shampoo in your local drugstore.

7. Clarifying shampoo for blondes

Use clarifying shampoo at least once a week if you have highlighted or bleached hair. Dyed hair has the tendency to be porous, absorbing unwanted tones from outside factors. These factors include but are not limited to hairspray, smog, sweat or even minerals from water. This can be prevented with the regular use of clarifying shampoo.

8. Don’t toss the bottle

Hair changes with the season. This means that with different seasons, different textures. Expect this and keep using your product! You don’t change your moisturizer, why change the shampoo?

9. Shampoo can’t permanently change your hair

Just like exercising regularly, using the right shampoo consistently will help you to have gorgeous looking hair all the time. If you quit, you’ll go back to having lots of bad hair days!

10. Check out the ingredients

Some shampoos contain foaming agents that can be harsh to the scalp like ammonium lauryl sulfate, ammonium laureth sulfate or sodium lauryl sulfate. Look for sulfate-free products! Try DermOrganic's Argan Oil Conditioning Shampoo.
