Go Green With Beauty!

Lets help out our environment by going GREEN with beauty! Here are some ways that we can help our environment by starting with the products we use.

Use A Drinking Straw:

Makeup artists suggest that we should drink through a straw whenever possible. This will avoid messing up lipstick and allows it to last longer. Extra Tip: Tray and help out our environment by using a reusable glass straw.

Go Multi-Purpose

Shop for all-in-one makeup sticks that could be used for the eyes, lips and cheeks. Also, try and hunt for moisturizers that can also act as a sunscreen. Multi-use products will help you cut down the cost and cut down the environmental waste!

Oil: The New Moisturizer

Try switching your normal moisturizers to botanical oil moisturizers. This will make your skin as smooth as a baby’s bottom! I love using 100’s Pure Nourishing Facial Oil. This facial oil smells great and is full of antioxidants.

Brush For Nature:

We advise you to buy makeup brushes that are made from sustainable materials like bamboo and bristles. These synthetic fibers will help our environment by protecting animals (animal hairs) and will blend just as well!

Dry Shampoo:

Washing your hair regularly is not only time consuming, but also energy and water consuming. Try using dry shampoo! Dry shampoo is a great alternative for those “in between washes.” Just sprinkle a little bit near the roots then tousle with your fingers to prevent hair from getting oily. Lollia’s Dusting Powder is absolutely AMAZING!

Save Water:

Long showers can be very wasteful. Cut down your water consumption time by using biodegradable facial wipes to help wash up. This can also help remove dirt build up without the tap!

Reward For Recycling:

Help our world go green by taking your empty make-up containers to recycling centres. Some stores will even give rewards when you bring back the empty product!

Squeeze ‘til the Last Drop:

Make the most out of your products. Try to squeeze every last bit out! We can use the remainder of our eye shadow as eyeliner by dipping a thin brush into Visine. For dried out mascara, run hot water on the outside of the tube to help thicken.

Eco-Colours:

If you love nail polish, look for formaldehyde and toluene-free nail varnishes. This will allow the polish to last up to a week or so. These nail polishes, which are non-toxic and water based, may help us eliminate the need for nail polish remover

Label Police:

Before using a product, check the list of ingredients it contains. Keep an eye out for chemicals such as parabens, phthalates, and sodium lauryl sulfate, which can be harmful if consumed in high amounts.
