What Skin Care Products Should I Use?
With so many skin care products and cosmetics out there, the number of options can be overwhelming.
On one hand, it's great that we have so many choices.
On the other, it can be difficult to find products for your skin -- its type, condition, and unique needs.
Skin care and makeup isn't one size fits all.
You don't want to be stuck in a loop of purchasing and trying products, only to find out that they don't work for you (or worse, cause a reaction).
This is one of the reasons I started my business -- I wanted to help women stop wasting time and money on skincare!
This is why more consumers are doing their research before buying.
Consumers are beginning to speak up and ask for more personalized skin care treatments as well, and some brands are listening.
For example, in 2018, Clinique launched Clinique iD, a personalized moisturizer system. Users pick active ingredients based on the skin concern they're trying to target.
Beauties, I want to help you get your healthiest and most beautiful skin, too!
In this article, there are FIVE skin care quizzes to help you achieve your skin goals.
I will also be recommending the best skin care products and ingredients for each skin type and address concerns you may be having.
Let's get to it!
Why Knowing Your Skin Matters
Today's consumers are more educated than ever before, and the Google search statistic above reflects that.
The power of the search engine provides us with product reviews, company background info, and ingredient info before deciding to buy.
Consumers know that skin care isn't one size fits all and are generally reluctant to try products on a whim without any context.
They want products that will fit their specific needs.
If you're a little confused about why personalized skin care is important, that's OK! I'm here to help!
To put it simply, products and ingredients that are right for your skin will give you the results that you want.
Skin care doesn't have to be time-consuming or expensive.
Many of my clients believe this lie that's being perpetuated by the beauty industry.
Just a little bit of short-term care can have great long-term effects.
If you've read my blog before, you know one of my mottos: prevention is easier than treatment!
And just because a product is pricy doesn't mean that it's the best, or that it's the best for your skin.
My quizzes will give you the need-to-know answers about your skin so you know exactly what to shop for!
Do You Have Healthy Skin?
First thing's first, let's determine the health of your skin.
These skin care quiz questions will help you to determine what shape your complexion is in.
In case you need a refresher on why skin health is important, the skin is your body's largest organ.
Unhealthy skin can be damaged and lead to further problems down the road.
For example, tanning can lead to skin cancer.
Having healthy skin is so important and it's the first step in getting the results you want.
If your skin is healthy, that's great!
You can maintain -- and even improve -- its health with the right products and the right routine, which I'll discuss more in this article.
Or, if your skin isn't the healthiest, that's totally OK!
I'm here for you to help you get back on track.
Plus, I have a whole series of blog posts dedicated to this particular topic that you can refer to.
What Is Your Skin Type?
The first step to establishing your skin care routine is to know your skin type.
This is absolutely necessary for selecting the right products!
Below is a quick summary of the five major skin types.
I also have a more comprehensive blog post about skin types here.
Trust me, you wouldn't want to have a skin care routine made up of products for dry skin if you have oily skin.
If you're still unsure of your skin type, that's OK!
Just simply take the skin type quiz below.

Thanks for pointing out that being aware of my skin type is a good way to find the right personal care products for me. I’ve been getting acne on my face lately and my doctor told me that it is probably because of some hormonal imbalance. Maybe being more serious about my skincare routine would be needed in order to get through this.
You’re welcome!! :)
I had so much to learn. I only use natural products because I know they are good but not knowing the root causes, benefits and so on. I will come to stop by again next time. And I got some new and positive tips from you. I think suggested products will help me for this situation. Thanks for your important article.
