Best Facial in Dana Point

Wondering what happens during a professional facial? Allow us to let you in on what one at Spa Alana looks like, so you can rest assured, and be prepared for your visit.

Consultation Time...
Each of our sessions starts with an introductory consultation. Here, your esthetician will ask you several questions to get a better understanding of how to treat your skin as well as any struggles you have. You can expect some of the following:

  • What your skincare concerns are
  • How much water you intake daily
  • If you exercise, and if so, how often
  • What supplements you take
  • What products you’re currently using (and their ingredients)

Get Yourself Wrapped Up...
Next, your esthetician will leave the room and allow you to prep for your session. You’ll be provided with a wraparound towel or robe. Feel free to either remove your clothes beneath or keep them on, it's up to your discretion.

Start With Cleansing...
After you’re all wrapped up, your esthetician will come back into the room and start your session. To begin, you can expect your skin to be fully cleansed. Your hair will be placed back, and behind a headband, to make sure it doesn’t get wet.

Personal Skincare Analysis...
Once your skin is clear and clean, it’s time for your esthetician to do a quick analysis. Don’t be alarmed when they pull out a bright lamp to inspect your skin. Just close your eyes, and know, it’s for your glowing benefit. Diagnosing the state of your skin (acne-prone, dry, oily) will help to know the professional facial products to use and the treatment route to take.

Take Home Goodies...
Your esthetician will provide you with the results of their skin findings, tips on treating your skin in the best way at home, and any product recommendations they may have.

How often to get a professional facial?
There’s no written rule for everyone; however, it’s suggested that you maintain a monthly routine for best progress. This is especially true if you’re trying to improve the quality of your skin or you’re using a professional facial for acne. In the end, the best thing to do is to make it to the spa at least four times a year, with seasonal changes, to give your skin a quick rejuvenation.
