Naturopathica was founded in 1995 by Barbara Close on the belief that herbalism, naturopathic medicine, and holistic wellness should be merged with science to offer more profound, efficacious beauty to everyone.
Today, Naturopathica Holistic Health features a robust collection of herbal skincare and well-being products, that contain potent ingredients like aloe vera, amino acids, lactic acid, and essential oils.
A Holistic Approach to Healing
The Naturopathica brand never uses toxic ingredients that could be damaging to the health of the individual or our planet.
At a minimum, the company never uses:
Animal-derived ingredients (Lanolin, Musk, Collagen, Squalene)
Endocrine disruptors (Formaldehyde, Synthetic Fragrance, Parabens)
Any other potentially toxic or known irritants
The company's belief in the body's capability to heal itself is why the focus is on preventive skin care instead of simply treating symptoms. Skin health and well-being go hand in hand and understanding this reflects the body's interior health as well.
Ingredients, Sustainability, and Fair Pay
Naturopathica products are some of the safest and most sustainable on the market. Their responsibly sourced ingredients are clean and supportive of the skin's natural function. The actives in Naturopathica products are often developed using the latest advances in green technology, making them safe and effective.
Naturopathica is a brand that takes great pride in the ingredients they use in its formulas. Each ingredient is vetted for efficacy, sourcing, and environmental impact. Their formulas are designed to work in harmony with the skin to deliver visible results without irritation or discomfort.
The foundations of a great company are the employees. Naturopathica ensures their workers and the workers of their vendors are paid fair wages that actually enhance their lives.
Founder Barbara Close
Barbara Close fell in love with natural healing at an early age, thanks to childhood visits to apothecaries with her aunt in France. This led Barbara to explore the field of therapeutic herbalism and earn a Master’s degree in the subject. She also has credentials in esthetics, advanced massage, and aromatherapy.
In addition to her professional training, Barbara's expertise was tested when her mother was diagnosed with lung cancer. Barbara used her knowledge of herbal remedies to ease her mother's anxiety, soothe her skin, and calm her nausea. She found that the lemon balm tea and her calendula cream were especially effective in reducing her mother's stress levels.
