Quick Fixes For Summertime Blemishes

Is your skin oilier in the summer? Do you feel like you break out more? I know I do! During the summer time we are busy in the sun and tend to be more bothered with acne. Try these steps to keep your skin looking its summertime best!

Exfoliate, Exfoliate, Exfoliate! Regularly exfoliating your skin with natural scrubs will keep pores clean and reduce oil. Be sure to rinse your face with cold water after exfoliating to close up your pores to further dirt and residue.

Be Natural. Summertime is hot and humid, don’t cake on the makeup! Try to wear as little makeup as possible. Your makeup routine should be simple all summer. Only use the essentials, this will allow your skin to breathe rather than be clogged with heavy makeup. Don’t forget a protective face sunscreen!

Add Moisturizer. During summer, depending on your skin type, you probably need to use even more moisturization. This doesn’t mean to drown your skin in oily products. Instead, find a lightweight and oil-free moisturizer to apply at nighttime.

Dare To Be Bronze. Achieving a sun-kissed bronze doesn’t mean you have to damage your skin. Try a lightweight facial bronzer with a broad spectrum SPF. My website offers a wide variety of bronzers including those that are oil-free and won’t clog your pores!

Treat Your Skin. A long day in the sun can leave your skin dry and flaky. Treat your skin with a couple drops of olive oil mixed with a tablespoon of sugar. This will create a paste that can be applied to dry skin. Rinse off with warm water and your dry skin will be refreshed!

Keep Brushes Clean. Clean make up brushes with a makeup brush cleaner or mild shampoo and water. A lot of my clients don’t realize how much dirty makeup brushes affect your skin! I it is crucial you clean your brushes at least once a month at the very minimum. Be sure to throw away any cream or stick blushes and/or foundation sticks that come into contact with your skin after a maximum of six months. You’ll also notice how great your makeup looks after using a clean brush!

Don’t Be A Disgrace, Wash Your Face. Let’s face it, by the end of the day we are exhausted! Sometimes it seems harmless to skip that one last step of washing off makeup. Believe me, it is not harmless! It is important, especially in the hot and oily summer months, to always wash your makeup off at the end of the night. Choose a cleanser or face wash that is good for your skin type, those with oily and acne prone skin should stick to a mild cleanser and follow up with a face astringent.

Choose Your Weapon.
When we are faced with a breakout, we tend to try to battle acne with every product we own in hopes it will disappear immediately. This is never a good idea! Realistically, this will probably make the breakout worse and damage your skin. The best choice is to make sure your skin is kept clean and choose the one product you know works best for your skin.

Hopefully these tips will help your skin’s summer woes.
