Get Your Fall On!
Fall Trends in Nail Polish
The Christmas cups at Starbucks reminded me that fall is almost over! Don’t miss out on your chance to sport 2011’s hottest fall nail polish trends!
Red – You will see deep, dark reds in everywhere this season. Just try not to match your red to your clothes. Give a chance to red+glitter nail polish! This shade is perfect for a fall date night because it’s warm, seasonal, and sexy.
Copper- Another must-have nail color! Go for a deep bronze or copper to echo autumn colors. Gold will be another perfect choice for this fall!
Metallic Colors – I told you these would be a hit! You can try a metallic green, purple or a shade that compliments your skin tone. Deep gray can be great to add a little mystery.
Basic Nudes- Nude colored nail polish is still very much in style for fall, however, if you’re going to wear a nude polish be sure to select a color that is at least two shades darker than your skin color. This way your polish will stand out and your fingers won’t look abnormally long.
Updated French Manicures- Rather than draw the traditional white line across the tip of the nail, use metallic colors to draw the lines at an angle, going from the middle corner of the nail down to the tip. To take this trend one step further, try doing a French manicure with a nude base color and black tips.
Sparkles - Are still in style and it’s a good thing too because they add so much fun and personality to any polish color.
Navy- This fall, navy is the new black. Try the perfect shade of navy with just an ounce of shine.
Mochacino Polish- Is what I’m sporting as I type this blog! This soft brown with a hint of grey is one of the things all the nail polish companies have been predicting will be everywhere this season. It's the "new neutral” and in my opinion, looks glam and expensive!
Remember- all nail trends look better on healthy, well kept nails. Add Dermalogica MultiVitamin Hand and Nail Treatment ($10) to give your digits the nutrients they need!
Take my advice hurry up while you still can! Before you know it, it will be all about Christmas and New Years looks! Have fun!
