Can I Wear This Past Labor Day?!

How to transition your favorite summer looks into fall

I swear I literally just found the perfect shade of coral blush and now its fall! Don’t get me wrong, I love the season but I’m not quite read to give up my summer go-tos! If you're with me, you'll love me for finding a few ways to introduce fall to the makeup and clothes you already own!

Change Your Lip Pencil

Changing the color of your lip liner is a quick and cheap way to transition your look. If you've been wearing bright corals and oranges this summer (which I hope you have), use a liner in a darker hue to mute the brightness and bring you into fall.

Ease the Tweeze (a little)

Since summer is all about that fresh faced look, perfect brows have been a necessity. This fall, you’ll see a lot of bushier, boyish eyebrows. Let yours grow in a little and you’ll be right on trend. Don’t go crazy! You still want a flattering and clean look. Fill them in with a powder and brush them up with a clear gel to get the right effect.

Fade out the Tan

This weekend marks the last opportunity to most of us will have to enjoy the sun. And while your tan will naturally fade with the seasons, you want to remember to do the same with your sunless tanner. Simply add a couple of drops of product into your moisturizer before applying. Diluting it this way will help you ease up on the intensity and get you through the transition without looking instantly pasty or fake and baked in the middle of December

Hide Summer Mistakes

When shifting into fall, you’ll want to get rid of signs of sun damage. If you have obvious hyper pigmentation, use a skin brightening treatment or peel to treat the damage. Cover up with a thick concealer and powder in the mean time.

New Nails

We saw a lot of blues, grays, and oranges this summer. Shift into fall with a slightly darker or more metallic version of your summer favorites. Teal, metallic green, or slate gray will do the trick! And remember, no girl ever went wrong with red!

Move the Bronzer

In summer, you want to mimic a sun-kissed look by applying bronzer to the apples of your cheeks and forehead. For the fall, move your product off your cheekbone and start using it under the cheekbone as a contour.

Bring Back Black

Lots of women ditch smoky eye and heavy eyeliner over the summer. Reintroducing black into the mix is a great way to darken the rest of your look without getting a whole new palate. Try a slight cat-eye or line the inside rim of your upper and lower lashes to get the job done.

Dress Your Dresses

Printed dresses were a hit this summer! Add a boyfriend blazer and riding boots to yours for a fall-approved look! Ankle boots with a leather jacket can add just the right amount of edge to your feminine sundresses. As always, opaque tights and a thick long sleeve turtleneck will give your sleeveless dresses a chance to debut in the colder months.

Good luck making the change ladies! With a few minor tweaks you’ll be ready to bring on the cozy sweaters and spicy drinks in perfect style!
