It's summer! Hurray!

There's something about warm summer days, backyard BBQ's, and family time at the beach or pool that make summer the best season of all.

Summer is a time to relax and enjoy life a bit more. A time to lighten up in everything from the clothes we wear to our mental outlook.

And when you're lighting up, that also includes your skincare routine.

One thing you don't want in the summer is weighty skincare products that feel greasy on your skin, yet you still want to protect and nourish your skin every day.

And if you're of an age that has you reaching for anti-aging skincare products, you don't want to give them up. Though, in the warm summer months, they can feel heavy on your skin.

The good news is; you don't have to!

There are plenty of easy ways to continue to provide your lovely skin with the best in anti-aging without feeling smothered in the process.

It goes without saying that you're likely well aware of two basic no-brainers when it comes to caring for your skin: Sunscreen and hydration!

It's everything else that may have you scratching your head and wondering how to adapt your anti-aging regimen for summer.

That's why I'm excited to share with you some of my favorite anti-aging skincare tips to keep your skin radiant and glowing all summer long!

Hot Summer Skincare

1. Cleanse

When it comes to cleansing your skin, the primary objective is to rid your skin of excess oils and pore-clogging debris without over-drying.

Steer clear of harsh cleansers that can dry or irritate your skin. Always chose a product with gentle, non-irritating ingredients that cleanse and nourish your skin, while also providing a dose of anti-aging benefits as well.

One cleanser I especially love is Rhonda Allison Foaming Peptide Cleanser. It gently removes impurities, infuses your skin with nourishing vitamins and probiotics, and is safe and gentle enough for the most sensitive skin.

And it's the perfect summer cleanser for all skin types! But don't save it just for summer. This is a cleanser you can use year-round!

2. Moisturize

Keeping your skin hydrated during the summer is crucial. But now's the time to switch to a lighter-weight moisturizer than you've been using during fall or winter. Choose one that leaves your skin feeling cool and fresh. And if it also contains a potent SPF component, so much the better!

Look for serums and treatments loaded with peptides, vitamins, and antioxidants. If they feel too heavy during the day, use them only at night during the warm summer months.

Green tea is practically a magic elixir as it contains epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), which works to protect your skin from the sun's damage from the inside out. EGCG does come in supplement form, but it is essential to consult any potential new supplements with your doctor before taking them!

A cold glass of green tea is a great and refreshing way to recharge on a busy summer day!
