How to Get Rid of Wrinkles

Why?! Why do we have to get wrinkles? Whether you are waking up to fine lines or battling deep-set wrinkles, chances are, you’d do most anything to get rid of them! Here are the non-surgical ways you can fight back!

La Bella Donna Co Exist

Anti-Wrinkle Creams

The most natural way to fight wrinkles is with a good anti-aging cream. Choose from the many options based on your age and skin type. Typically, the older you get, the more intense you want your product. When choosing a serious anti-wrinkle cream, look for products containing Retinol, Collagen, and Hyaluronic Acid. La Bella Donna Co-Exist Gel Crème - Limited Edition 1oz ($100) is a powerful anti-wrinkle cream that works with the body to fight the signs of aging. Clayton Shagal Elastin Gel ($65) and Collagen Gel ($65) work by actually strengthening the collagen fibers at the dermis level. This line has a beginning level and a more advanced level to choose from.

You may have noticed products range in price quite a bit. I tell clients to try out cheaper alternatives but to keep in mind; you usually get what you pay for. Results in cheaper products may be more gradual because they are less concentrated than their higher end counterparts.

Skin Removal Procedures

Removing dead skin is the quickest way to get rid of surface level wrinkles. Dermabrasion and Microdermabrasion work by removing the top layer of your skin and allowing healthy, new skin to grow and show. The main difference between these two treatments is the amount of skin that is removed. Dermabrasion is much more aggressive and leaves the skin red for a time. Microdermabrasion removes less skin and there is virtually no recovery time. Always use a good exfoliator for removing dead skin at home as part of your skin care regimine. Check out this blog for a how to do it the right way!

Laser treatments work by enhancing collagen production. Intense lasers actually wound the skin and can take some time to heal. Less intensive laser treatments heat the skin and encourage the formation of collagen and elastin and require less recovery time.

Chemical Peels remove the outer layer of skin through the application of an acid. Peels vary in strength and recovery time as well.

Frownies Facial Patches

Botox & Filler Injections

Botox works by paralyzing facial muscles so that the skin stays smooth and tight. Results typically last a few months. Most people treat wrinkles in the forehead, crow’s feet, and between the eyebrows. I recommend Frownies ($16.75) as an alternative to injections. Yes, they really do work! You will feel silly going to bed, but it’s totally worth it!

Fillers are used to plump up deep wrinkles. Common fillers include collagen, fat and hyaluronic acid. Well-known brands include Restylane and Juvederm. Results typically last a few months.

What's my favorite natural tip for fighting wrinkles? Sleeping! … The right way, of course. Sleeping on your back and on a silk pillowcase will actually help you wake up to younger looking skin and cut down on wrinkles. I love the Save my Face Pillow!
