Yes, I Went There: I Paired Your Favorite Starbucks Seasonal Drinks with Skincare Products

Hi, Beauty Mates! Are you excited as I am?! The PSL (Pumpkin Spice Latte for those who have remained blissfully unaware of the seasonal titan) dropped at Starbucks, making today the first unofficial day of fall.

I’m already thinking about colder weather, blanket scarves, comfy sweaters, and cute boots!

The PSL is a big deal: Starbucks sold 200 million of the drinks from 2003-2013.

Don’t even get me started on the Starbucks holiday drinks that I’m waiting for – Caramel Brulée Latte, anyone?

Okay, okay, I live in Southern California, where the seasons hardly change. But a girl can dream, right?!

I seriously love the smell of pumpkin, and I’m more than ready for it to be used in EVERYTHING. This got me thinking about my fall and holiday skincare routine.

Then I had an idea: What if I paired Starbucks seasonal drinks with skincare products? C’mon, you can sip your favorite drink while you treat your skin - sounds like a win-win to me!

I know you’re curious, so keep on reading!

Alana Mitchell Foaming Pumpkin Cleanser

Okay, let’s start with the icon. The PSL is made with espresso and milk and is highlighted with pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove to create this wildly popular beverage that’s a fall favorite. It even has its own Twitter account.

My Foaming Pumpkin Cleanser is the perfect pairing! Made with natural ingredients such as pumpkin seed, cinnamon, and clove essential oils, it has a soft and uplifting scent that’s perfect for this time of year. It’s a gentle, daily, pore-refining wash that’s great for all skin types, and is made to deliver healthy, glowing skin.

Dermalogica Overnight Repair Serum

The Salted Caramel Mocha is made with espresso, milk, mocha sauce, and toffee nut flavored syrup, then topped off with whipped cream, caramel sauce, and a mixture of turbinado sugar and sea salt. Talk about sweet - this drink will wake you up for sure!

The Dermalogica Overnight Repair Serum works while you sleep to improve collagen production so you wake up with luminous, vibrant, and refreshed skin to take on the day. It rejuvenates tired, dull skin for a youthful look and provides a boost of moisture.

Caramel Brulée Latte

=

Rhonda Allison Mandelic Au Lait

The Caramel Brulée Latte is a great alternative when I can’t get my hands on some crème brulée! It’s made with espresso, steamed milk, and rich Caramel Brulée Sauce, then topped off with whipped cream and Caramel Brulée topping. Sooo good!!

What does the drink have in common with this product? Milk! The Rhonda Allison Mandelic Au Lait is a hydrating, lightweight moisturizer with antibacterial ingredients and soothing elements, making it an excellent choice for a wide variety of skin issues such as acne and rosacea.

Ilike Organic Skin Care Hungarian Paprika Gel Treatment

If you love gingerbread cookies, you’ll love the Gingerbread Latte! It’s sweet with a touch of delicate spice and is made with espresso and steamed milk, then topped off with whipped cream and ground nutmeg.

With the Ilike Organic Skin Care Hungarian Paprika Gel Treatment, you can feel as warm on the outside as you do on the inside (after drinking that Gingerbread Latte)! This powerful, multifunctional treatment heats the skin on contact as it increases circulation to the epidermis and balances problematic skin. You’ll have a refreshed, revived complexion.

Eggnog Latte

Epicuren Cinnamon Vanilla Brown Sugar Polish

Whether you love or hate eggnog, there’s no denying it’s a holiday staple. The Eggnog Latte is made with rich and creamy steamed eggnog and espresso, then topped off with whipped cream and a dusting of nutmeg. Mmm, I can smell it right now!

Can I just say that the smell of the Epicuren Cinnamon Vanilla Brown Body Polish is to die for?! It reminds me of the perfect holiday bake. Peppermint Mocha

=

Eminence Organics Chocolate Mousse Hydration Masque

Peppermint + chocolate = the perfect pair, in my opinion. This holiday classic is made with espresso, steamed milk, mocha sauce, and peppermint-flavored syrup, then topped off with whipped cream and dark chocolate curls.

The Eminence Organics Chocolate Mousse Hydration Masque uses cocoa as its key ingredient to smooth rough skin and provide antioxidant protection (but don’t eat it)! The decadent masque works on skin from the inside out to improve its moisture balance and to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles so you’ll look revitalized and refreshed.

Ideal for these skin types: All skin types, but especially helpful for dry or rough skin

Chestnut Praline Latte

=

Bioelements Kerafole

The Chestnut Praline Latte is made with espresso, steamed milk, caramelized chestnuts, and subtle holiday spices, then topped off with whipped cream and a sprinkle of spiced praline crumbs. (Does anyone know what pralines actually are?)

The Bioelements Kerafole is a perfect holiday touch as it's made with clove to tone the skin for an even, smooth texture, and less visible pores. This powerful exfoliating treatment purges the skin of impurities to reveal a fresh, revitalized complexion and brighter skin.

Spiced Sweet Cream Cold Brew

=

100% Pure Coffee Bean Caffeine Eye Cream

If you need a caffeine boost, this should be your go-to! Starbucks’ Nariño 70 cold brew coffee is slow-steeped for a super smooth flavor, then house-made sweet cream with a dash of spice is added.

You can use the power of caffeine externally, too! The 100% Pure Coffee Bean Caffeine Eye Cream is vegan and gluten-free and is made with concentrated anti-aging vitamins and antioxidants. It reduces dark circles, fine lines, wrinkles, and puffiness around the delicate eye area. This eye cream is perfect for the hustle and bustle during the holiday season!

If you're not a huge Starbucks fan, don't fret! I've included one of my favorite recipes for a fall-inspired drink you can make at home :) Enjoy!

Skinny Hazelnut Macchiato

Prep time: 10 minutes

Makes 1 serving (1½ cups)

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (8 oz.) hazelnut coffee
  • 1/2 cup fat-free milk
  • 1 tablespoon sugar-free vanilla syrup
  • 2 tablespoons light whipped cream (from a can)
  • 1 teaspoon fat-free chocolate syrup

Instructions:

  • Brew coffee (keep this separate for now).
  • Using a wire whisk and a saucepan, whisk together milk and vanilla syrup over medium heat, stirring until steaming.
  • Remove the mixture from heat. Transfer to a blender and blend for 15 seconds until foamy. If a blender isn't available, just whisk continuously until foamy.
  • Pour the mixture into a large mug. Add the hot coffee on top.
  • Top with whipped cream and drizzle chocolate syrup.
  • Drink immediately. Cheers!
