The 5 BEST Facebook Skincare Groups for Free Products and Advice

If you are looking for a list of the best skincare-related Facebook groups available, then keep on reading!

200 million people are members of Facebook groups to learn more about what they’re buying.

Facebook groups are one way for skincare lovers to gather in one place and give and receive advice, gather info, read reviews before they buy, and get recommendations from others.

You don’t want to miss out on all they have to offer!

Did you know that hundreds of Facebook skincare groups exist, some with thousands of members?

As you’ll see in my list below, reputable groups have been established by dermatologists and skincare experts with devoted members who are passionate about the subject.

There's a wealth of skincare knowledge (and even free products) right at your fingertips!

Side note: It’s always important to research what/whose skincare group you’re joining. Be careful out there; you could accidentally join a group established by an internet marketer who’s good at marketing strategy but knows nothing about skincare!

While members aren't necessarily experts themselves, for some, helping others is their hobby and they’re very knowledgeable.

It can be extremely helpful to get tips or a second opinion from a neutral source.

Interested in joining a Facebook skincare group yet?

I've done the hard work for you and gathered up the top 5 groups you should join on your journey to better skin!

Keep on reading to find out what my picks are and why.

1. Skincare Fans Unite! Private Group For Free Skincare Products and Tips

Of course, I'm going to list mine first. :) Ta-da!

A little hint: If you apply for my group from reading this article, make sure to let me know, I may just have a free product offer waiting for you!

I'm amazed at the growth; I created this group less than 6 months ago and we've almost hit 1,000 members. And, if you search "skincare" in groups, we are number 4 on the list worldwide!

This is the right group for you if:

  • You have a ton of skincare products in your bathroom, or you want to -- but just don't know what to buy
  • You want personal help with what do regarding your skin or product routine
  • You want to be the first to try new products
  • You want to learn how I created (2) 7-figure businesses from a 70 square foot room
  • You're tired of walking into Sephora or Ulta and feeling overwhelmed by what's available
  • You feel like some skincare companies are full of hot hair in their advertisements and claims (and yes, a lot of them are)
  • You like giveaways with free skincare products

We have people in this group that are just now using their first cleanser, and others who spend more than $1,000+ yearly on skincare.

In other words, you can find end users, day spa owners, brand owners, skincare junkies, novices, influencers, and more!

I encourage you to post in the group and let me know your biggest skincare issue, whether it's fine lines and wrinkles, acne, melasma, or dullness.

I'll personally reply and offer recommendations!

I also encourage you to take my skincare quiz for personalized help.

Additionally, I like to give updates on my Alana Mitchell brand and product sneak peeks before they're released to the public.

You can also give your feedback on my brand -- I love hearing your opinions!!

I would be SO honored if you joined my group.

Please leave a comment below if you do!

2. Caroline Hirons Skincare Freaks

A native Brit, Caroline Hirons is the queen of skincare and has gained a huge online following thanks to her blog and YouTube videos.

This group might be closed, but you’ll have to check for yourself as she closes it and opens it from time to time.

Her group has a whopping 15,000+ members!

As stated on the group's "About" page, this is "a friendly place to talk and learn about all things skincare. This is a safe place for everyone, beginners through to pros."

Because Caroline's group has so many members, there are skincare discussions going on all day long, so be prepared if you have your notifications turned on!

This group is known for:

  • Members seeking product recommendations and advice for skin issues
  • Skincare routine info
  • Before and after pictures of members
  • Sharing favorite skincare products
  • General skincare humor

Caroline is a very busy lady, so she can't comment on everything, but she does chime in frequently!

One special aspect of Caroline's group is that she offers a mentorship program.

As stated on the group's "Mentorship" page, "Anyone who has experience and a skill to share can offer support in the Mentorship program. Mentors should have enough knowledge about a topic to give good advice to someone with less experience. Any group member can ask someone to mentor them when they see that person listed as a mentor."

Pretty cool stuff!

3. Into The Gloss: The Group

If you're a fan of the website Into the Gloss and the Glossier brand, this is the group for you!

The site is for everyone and is big on empowerment, lifestyle, and exploring beauty routines, and that theme continues in the group.

As stated on the group's "About" page, "Join the ITG team here every day to share your tips, favorite products, read up on the latest interviews and reviews, and discuss what beauty means to you today."

This group features product recommendations, people seeking advice, and brand spotlights by members (here's an example).

You might find a new favorite!

Now, there are two aspects of the group that I really like in particular.

The first is their Master Threads about a variety of beauty topics.

Here are a few that I pulled from the list:

  • International beauty
  • Shampoo and conditioner
  • Ingrown hairs
  • Blackheads
  • Scarring

You might find the info you're looking for without having to ask for help. :)

The second aspect that I really like about the group is the City Guides.

Members offer their opinion on what to buy, see, eat, and do in major U.S. cities.

This could be a great resource for you if you're planning a trip!

4. Dr. Sam's Skincare Club

Dr. Sam Bunting is a London-based cosmetic dermatologist who founded her own skincare line in June 2018.

Previously, she was the global brand ambassador to Dolce & Gabbana Skincare, an expert panelist to numerous beauty awards, and a regular contributor as a beauty and skincare expert to numerous magazines.

She's known for her acne expertise, knowing the skincare market inside and out, and bridging the gap between "medical dermatology" and beauty.

I think it's safe to say that she knows her stuff!

Her very own Facebook group is "an exclusive but inclusive forum devoted entirely to skincare. We want to continue the conversation from our in-person events online and to enable you all to stay in touch with kindred spirits! We will keep you updated on upcoming events, new skincare finds, new video content, and exciting new projects."

If you're dealing with acne or worried about finding the right moisturizer, head to this group!

Dr. Sam herself posts videos and will chime in the group chatter.

One thing that really stands out about this group is that they have in-person events (in London) to talk about everything skincare.

Each event focuses on a different skincare concern or partners with a different skincare brand in an intimate setting.

For example, their most recent theme was "Your Summer Skin Bootcamp for the Body."

You can also leave with a goody bag with free skincare stuff!

5. Green Beauty Insiders

The Green Beauty Insiders group differs from the rest of the groups that I recommended because it has a strong focus on -- you guessed it -- green beauty.

As stated on the group's "About" page, "This group is a place to explore and learn about the exciting world of green beauty, as well as share ideas, tips, and constructive discussion topics."

If you're interested in diving into the world of green, clean, organic, or all-natural beauty, this is a great place to start!

This group is known for:

  • Current trends
  • Members seeking product recommendations and advice for skin issues
  • Sharing favorite skincare products
  • Skincare routine info

Members also recommend plenty of cruelty-free, vegan, and paraben-free options.

The group also posts dedicated threads for self-promotion at the start of each new season, where small business owners, bloggers, YouTubers, estheticians, and more can share their green beauty-related websites and social media links.

I'm all for supporting small businesses and women empowering each other!

OK, Now Back to My Facebook Group...

What to Know About Joining Facebook Groups

I think this goes without saying, but you need a personal Facebook account to be able to join these groups!

Each group has its own set of rules that you'll need to follow, or you could risk getting removed from the group.

For example, a couple of my rules are to be nice and courteous, and no spam.

I should also note that one thing that all of these groups have in common is that they absolutely do not allow multi-level marketing recommendations.

There are three different types of Facebook groups:

  • Public Facebook groups allow anyone to see who's in the group and all of the content, but only members of the group can post within it. If you want to post, you have to ask to join.
  • Closed Facebook groups require you to be accepted into the group to see all of the content and post. From the outside, only minimal info is visible. You may also have to answer some preliminary questions before getting accepted in.
  • Secret Facebook groups are exactly what they say. No one can see a secret group other than the members in the group. Secret groups won't appear anywhere on your Facebook, and only members can see the content. This is the most private option. I've used these before when planning a surprise birthday party!

The 5 groups that I listed in this article are either public or closed (you shouldn't have any problems getting in!).

Other Benefits of Joining Facebook Groups

Besides access to a vast amount of skincare and beauty info, Facebook groups are a great way to network and build relationships online.

As with Caroline Hirons', Dr. Sam's, or my group, it's not every day that you get to engage with a skincare expert!

Plus, there can be thousands of like-minded people who share similar interests as you to speak and share ideas with!

Plus, there are opportunities for in-person networking with meetups and events hosted by groups.

You never know who you might share a job post, speaking opportunity, or offer free resources.

Two overlooked details about Facebook groups that I appreciate are:

  • The ability to share and store docs that contain valuable info. They stay in one place and are easy to refer back to.
  • Polls. They're a quick and easy way to get feedback and see what members want.

Final Thoughts

It can be nice to have a skincare support system behind you (a skincare army, if you will) right there on your smartphone.

When you can't see your dermatologist or esthetician, it's nice to be able to get a second opinion.

Many people don't even realize Facebook can be used in this way!

It's just another example of how the social media site has changed our lives.

I personally love the sense of community and seeing people help each other out.

From reading my blogs, you probably have enough skincare knowledge to recommend products and give skincare advice!

I can't wait to hear about the groups you join!

What's been your experience with Facebook skincare groups? Are there any other skincare groups that you recommend? Let us know in the comments!

Hi Jennifer, thank you for your feedback. We are so sorry you received an expired product. We are an authorized retailer of June Jacobs, so the products are legitimate, but unfortunately, we made an error. You can leave reviews on our Yelp or Facebook page. If you still have questions regarding your refund, please email or call us at 888-222-0637. Have a great day! — Skincare by Alana Customer Service Team

Alana @ 2019-06-12 10:14am

Your product came to me expired and used. That is unacceptable. I want others to be aware of this but conveniently you have no place for me to share this information. Perhaps if someone else was able to share their bad results, I wouldn’t have to write this post. You should be selling legitimate products with legitimate expiration dates. Zero excuses.
