Cure Acne Forever!

Alana Mitchell, Licensed Esthetician, Day Spa Owner

In our dream world, we would never have a breakout and always have clear skin, no matter the temperature or weather conditions. Well, we can dream, but it ain’t happening! When I was in beauty school, I learned about all sorts of skin-care regimens to help keep skin clear. The problem is, nothing works for everyone! Everywhere you go or anyone you talk to has different advice on what products you should use to clear and prevent acne. However, as an esthetician that has spoken to and treated hundreds of clients, I have gained some insights into what help everyone to cure acne. Read my tips below for help.

By the way, these are the same methods I have used on myself countless times in the past. To make sure you know

you are not reading advice from some random person, read a bit more about me and my experience, click here or on my picture. Also, you can read THOUSANDS of positive reviews from my customers by clicking my testimonials page, I can help you! Almost every skincare line has at least a few products that fight acne. For the purposes of keeping it simple, I will highlight the products that I use in my facial room on my clients (Epicuren Discovery), because I have seen them work 100 times over and more. I also like acne products made by: Rhonda Allison, Image Skincare, Jan Marini, Glymed Plus, and Eminence Organic Skincare.

Here are some tips on curing your acne:

  • Wash:This sounds easy, but a lot of people forget to do it. No matter how tired you are, or what time of the night/morning you make it home, make sure that you wash your face. This is always the first step to make sure that you are clearing the unwanted residue from your day. Think of it this way, washing your face twice a day will help to keep the acne away (clever, I know.) Every time you wash your face, use your cleanser twice, and use hot water. By the way, make sure your hands are clean as a whistle before you use them to wash your face! I usually use the Epicuren Medicated Acne Cleanser, which is an all natural cleanser that starts at $19.

Benzoyl Peroxide Scrub - $16
  • Scrub Scrub Scrub:Use a good scrub that is formulated to help clean your pores and fight acne. Use it in conjuctionwith your cleanser, and it will help clean out clogged pores, and keep clean pores clean! A good scrub for eliminating acne is the Epicuren Benzoyl Peroxide Scrub, which is an all scrub that starts at $16.
  • Topical Ointments: Instead of using an intense acne cleanser or acne lotions all over your face, why not make it easy and use a specialty treatment? Often it is the people with acne that have sensitive skin and the most specific needs. If you are using a scrub to try and get rid of your acne on the sensitive areas that don’t have acne; you are probably going to break out and harm the skin more.Try and use a topical ‘medicine’ to unblock the pores and kill the bacteria’s. Use things such as Benzoyl Peroxide, Salicylic Acid, and Glycolic acid to help unblock the pores and to remove bacteria on the skin. Apply these topical ointments directly on the skin. Down the road you will be able to use a serum, which helps to even out the

pigmentation of your skin. This will help when there are whiteheads or blackheads. My favorite topical is the Epicuren Lancer Gel, which is only $19.

  • Serums: For a case of bad acne, I don’t think it is necessary to over-moisturize your skin. Instead of using a cream, try using a serum based moisturizer, that won’t clog your pores. This serum will also be used to penetrate into your skin without leaving your skin feeling oily. Every time, I break out, I switch to a serum moisturizer and it really helps.
  • Masks:Lastly, try every so often to use a hydrating mask. If you following these steps, which I give you definite kudos if you are, using a hydrating mask will help once a week. The specialty products may dry out your skin a wee bit, so the once a week mask while helpvitalize your skin and give it the moisture it may be lacking.

If you want a good, inexpensive and simple all natural kit to start fighting acne I would recommend the Epicuren Acne kit, which is an all natural
