Having a valid California Esthetician license means that you are licensed and allowed to practice skin care in the state of California. Earning your license means you have completed 600 hours of skin care education, training, and practice, before you can perform skin care professionally on real people. Skin Care by Alana is also fully insured, many esthetician are not insured, and we do not recommend them for services. Alana has worked in the beauty industry for over 15 years, starting at a Salon & Spa. • 1. Slow down! Don’t stress! Make time for yourself! Stress causes hormonal fluctuations and increased oil production, which may result in troubled skin.
  2. Apply one of my high quality good-for-your-skin Sunscreens, Like Epicuren Zinc Oxide SPF 20, after your moisturizer everyday!
  3. Follow a basic routine of cleansing, scrubbing, moisturizing/hydrating, and protecting daily with good facial products. Avoid the drugstore/preservatives!
  4. Careful not to touch your face, or other areas of concern like chest and neck and even your back too much. Keep phones, pillows, makeup brushes, etc clean. Some of my toners and moisturizers can help form a protective barrier for your skin to help combat blemishes, such as the Bioelements equalizer.
  5. Drink water plenty of water, this will help keep your skin hydrated and clear. No duh, right?
  6. Exercise at least 3 days a week. This helps eliminate toxins from within the skin, and decreases stress.
  7. Eat plenty of fresh vegetables, fruit and raw nuts. Research shows that eating a good diet results in the appearance of blemish-free, luminous skin.
  8. Avoid excessive caffeine and alcohol intake which causes dehydrated skin, puffy, tired-looking eyes and premature fine lines. For extreme eye care check out isclinical youth eye complex.
  9. Take your daily vitamins. Vitamins C, A, D, and E especially help maintain good skin.
  10. Remember to hydrate and protect the rest of your body too!
